The SHANTIPHANT project was initiated to inspire you fulfilling your dreams. It features yoginis from Germany that transformed their lives through yoga and are now giving something back to the community. It features women that have been courageous enough to step up and change something for the better. It shall serve you as an inspiration to do the same, let go of fears and mental boundaries that keep you from living your dream. I am not telling you to start yoga (still, it's a great way to learn more about your Self and evolve). I want to show how some yogins have gone through tough times and have managed to overcome them. How some just really realized great things for the benefit of others or our nature.
I choose the name SHANTIPHANT for two reasons. First, I am obsessed with elePHANTs. I love their shape, their kind eyes, their grace but also their radiant power. Ganesha, the elephant god in the Hindu-tradition, is said to be the remover of obstacles. I found that very suiting for the stories I am telling through the short portraits. SHANTI means 'peace' in Sanskrit. I consider elephants as extremely peaceful living beings and thus want to emphasize that a SHANTIPHANT is someone who serves humanity in a peaceful yet determined way.
During the project, I did have that moments where I was questioning what I was doing (big time!). Criticizing my skills, wondering, if what I was doing was after all of need. I could have certainly done more fun stuff than editing all night long. But there was always this inner voice guiding me through it. It may seem like a small project, but it was essential for my life. Now I know I can master everything! If I can only inspire one of you guys, I am the happiest person. Watch all of the videos and you will see that my Phants were also struggling but somehow managed to really kick it and create something great of benefit.
May the grace of Ganesha support you removing the obstacles in your mind that may prevent you from fulfilling your dreams. If it's meant to be, everything is possible. I believe in you. Be a proud SHANTIPHANT and tell me about your stories. I would love to hear them.
Shanti Shanti and OM Gam Ganapataye Namah,
PS: I didn't mean to offend my male yogis (by only showing videos about yoginis) but want to empower especially women starting their own business ideas within the realm of or through yoga. The fact, that yoga was once only practiced by men (not too long ago, really) and is now mainly practiced and taught by women is an utterly stunning fact. I worship it and want to support my girls out there.
